Introduction:
Not since the Second World War ended in 1945, has the population of Great Britain been simultaneously affected by a common root-cause. Covid-19 has touched everybody’s lives in a unique way. Some will have been affected by death and the loss of a family member, friend or colleague; some will have been affected by fear of the unknown, Fear of contracting the virus, or a Phobia around protection from the virus; some will have been affected financially, or emotionally; some will not yet realise that they have been affected at all; some, with existing mental health conditions, may have seen a significant increase in their symptoms.
Purpose:
Post Pandemic Recovery (PPR) has been developed by the team at SAS-fit, to provide their clients with a tool and a process, by which they can manage the effects that Covid-19 has had on their organisation, and employees, in a consistent manner and with the confidence that whatever challenges they face in supporting their teams, they have a solution readily to hand.
Aim:
The aim of PPR is for SAS-fit and their team of therapists, to provide a solution in every case referred. In an unprecedented environment, as normality returns, each organisation will have their own challenges. They may have lost employees; they may have been seen to have handled the pandemic well, or badly. They may have had no choice but to shut down completely, limit their activities, or may have been fully operational throughout and classed as Key-workers.
Whatever the circumstances, their employees may experience difficulties in re-engaging with their work, their employer and their colleagues. Their symptoms may have been present prior to the pandemic, or may have only been present since the outbreak and be in an acute phase, causing stress, anxiety, depression. Whatever the symptoms, their performance may be affected, for a period following resumption. In all of these cases, a single bespoke, therapy session would give them the ability and coping strategies to move their life forward, rather than dwelling on the past.
PPR options:
Post Pandemic Recovery is a process, developed to be used as a bespoke, group workshop, or as a stand-alone therapy session, to address the effect of Covid-19 on employees at all levels of the company.
This product is Covid 19 specific and will help alleviate all related issues, to maximise employee confidence to return to work in optimum health and to re-engage with the minimum of disruption.
The principals of PPR are to provide an understanding of symptoms and change as a result of the pandemic and to give coping strategies to maximise employee confidence and performance.
Bespoke Treatment Plan: Employees, referred to SAS, with complex mental health problems will, for a limited period, as part of their treatment plan, be questioned about the effects of Covid – 19 to ensure that there are no contributing factors This simple technique, will accelerate recovery.
Group Workshop: Groups of employees can attend a workshop designed to give them an understanding of Covid – 19 (regardless of whether the effects are home or work related) and give them coping strategies to accept what is, build resilience and improve performance and recovery.
The workshop will be delivered by a SAS-fit therapist with specialist knowledge and experience in PPR
The outcome of the therapy will be that each employee understands their own reaction to Covid 19, how they have been affected, and the resulting symptoms. They will be empowered with coping strategies, focussing on performing at an optimum level, whilst remaining calm and composed and fully professional.
Following the workshop, each employee will be provided with written and audio self-help exercises, that they can use to reinforce the techniques and knowledge they have learned and continue to develop positive habits, so that their levels of performance are maximised.
Stand-alone therapy session: Each employee referred, will be given a 90-minute appointment, including consultation, to identify the employee’s signs, symptoms and stressors, followed by a bespoke treatment session to address the findings in the consultation.
Treatment will be delivered by a SAS-fit therapist, using our unique 4T Therapy*, that allows each therapy session to be bespoke to the employee being treated and using all appropriate therapies in the learning style of the employee.
The outcome of the therapy will be that each employee understands their own stressors and the resulting symptoms. They will be empowered with their own coping strategies, to be able to assess any potentially stressful situation, focussing on performing at an optimum level, whilst remaining calm and composed and fully professional in the despatch of their duties.
Following the therapy session, each employee will be provided with written and/or audio self-help exercises, that they can use in the future to reinforce the therapy and continue to develop positive habits, so that their levels of performance are maximised, whilst they maintain control over their levels of stress and anxiety.
